Data Projects Coordinator - temp-to-hire Autism Speaks is one of the fastest growing non-profits in the country, dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for autism. We currently have a temp-to-hire position available for an experienced Data Projects Coordinator in our Los Angeles office to support the Bioinformatics team for the for the newly-awarded NIH research challenge grant.
Data Projects Coordinator responsibilities include:
Working with researchers to secure the transfer of large data sets; organizing and formatting in a central database; supporting data entry and providing database quality control
Constructing simple data extraction and modification SQL queries
Corresponding with researchers and research assistants to develop clinical assessment forms in the Internet System for Assessing Autism Children (ISAAC) and the Online System for Clinical Research (OSCR) systems
Organizing meetings and conference calls for the bioinformatics team with NIH partners and key team members
Generating data projects documentation, protocols, reports, meeting minutes, and agendas
Assisting the Data Projects staff as needed to fulfill NDAR grant responsibilities
Requirements:
The qualified candidate will possess a bachelors degree in life science, computer science, psychology or related field, and a minimum of 2+ years experience preferably in the science/medical field working in the areas of computer programming (ColdFusion, T-SQL or VBA preferred), relational database manipulation and customer service.
The candidate will have excellent organization, communication and presentation skills. Experience in data management and analysis, databases using applications such as: Excel, FileMaker Pro, Access and other SQL databases, is required. Knowledge of computer file management and File Transfer Protocol (FTP), plus expertise in using MS Office to create charts, graphs, spreadsheets, presentations is required. Experience with clinical/biological research is a plus.
