Faculty Training Specialist B003187
This position will assist the Center for Teaching and Learning, UMUC?s faculty development unit, in the development of content and design of new training and updating of existing training for our worldwide faculty. UMUC is a leader in the delivery of online education and most of UMUC?s faculty development training is also delivered online. The Faculty Training Specialist position reports to and works closely with the Executive Director. Specific responsibilities include:
? Collaborating with CTL staff or designated faculty trainers, or department sister units to develop content for new faculty development workshops and special training projects
? Taking the lead in reviewing, revising, and updating existing workshop or other training content on a regularly scheduled basis
? Assisting in the revision of existing training and development programs stemming from changes in academic programs, policies, or software
? Teaching selected workshops, analyzing data and gathering input to suggest new workshop topics, designing models for new workshops and serving as design consultant on special projects
? Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Requires a Master?s degree and at least three (3) years of experience teaching online and at least three (3) years of experience developing faculty training, or a combination of experience in the development of training and course subject matter content for online delivery. Should be familiar with principles of instructional design and faculty development and have experience working in an institution of higher education. Preferences: Doctorate preferred.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
POSITION AVAILABLE: Immediately and will remain open until filled.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. Qualified candidates will have; and demonstrated computer literacy.
