The Manager, Contract Documents Education is responsible for providing high quality education programs about AIA Contract Documents content and software. The incumbent provides overall design and management of the AIA Contract Documents education program, and exercises broad, independent judgment to achieve the AIAs goals and objectives for contract documents education. The Manager is also responsible for creatively developing an annual education agenda/curriculum, education program content, selecting and recording educational learning units, helping to publicize and market education programs, and ensuring the on-time and on-budget delivery of AIA Contract Documents education programs. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that AIA Contract Documents educational programming aligns with Marketing objectives and product innovation pipeline as well as meets customer satisfaction rating and revenue goals. .
Job Duties:
Contract Documents Education Programming
Manage AIA Contract Documents continuing education programs from planning through delivery using the instructional design model of assessing needs, design, development and evaluation.
Work in conjunction with Directors of Marketing, Product and Content in order to create a comprehensive annual contract documents agenda/curriculum that supports ongoing product/content innovation. Programming will include both Continuing Education (CLE, LU, etc) and traditional education programs intended to engage and build understanding and usage among new and existing customers (as well as interest among prospects).
Oversee all aspects of the AIA Contract Documents Software Student Edition distribution program.
Identify relevant content, program delivery opportunities to be offered by the AIA national component and/or state and local components.
Develop, recruit, train and manage a cadre of speakers and presenters for AIA Contract Documents education programs and continuously improve the quality of contract documents education programs by compiling and reviewing workshop and seminar participant evaluations with the individual speakers and with AIA management on an annual or more frequent basis as needed.
Coordinate and verify the recording of CES Learning Units (LUs). As appropriate, obtain CLE and other industry credit for AIA Contract Documents education programs.
Program Delivery and Communications
Plan and manage all logistical and administrative contract documents education program tasks throughout their life-cycles.
Coordinate with the AIA Contract Document Marketing Director, other AIA departments, components (state and local offices), and other providers to build awareness of the contract documents education programs.
Develop customer education lifecycle communication plan, from new customer Welcome/Onboarding experience to promoting ongoing content and software learning sessions and resources.
Present software focused education events as needed
Develop and maintain a course catalog of available educational programs.
Maintain a system for delivering and tracking all contract documents education-related communications to www.aia.org, Council of Architectural Component Executives, AIArchitect, speakers and potential providers.
Organize work flow and coordinate production and delivery of educational materials with the AIA National Convention, AIA Components, commercial entities and approved CES providers.
Manage projects to successful completion.
Program Administration and Management
Develop strategic and annual business plans (that align with product and content innovation and marketing communications plans, including projecting estimates for revenue and expense targets, for AIA Contract Documents Educations programs, products, and communications.
Prepare annual budget projections for the AIA Contract Documents Education programs
Track revenues and expenses against budget; managing programs to budget.
Develop production and delivery schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
Coordinate and monitor payments to speakers, vendors and suppliers to insure payments are made on a timely basis.
Negotiate and recommend contract terms with vendors and suppliers of contract document education programs
Manage the operations and work of the Contract Documents Education Program.
Perform related duties and administrative functions, as assigned, or as necessary.
Maintain and enhance quality control.
Requirements:
Outstanding written/oral communication skills and organizational skills. Considerable knowledge of and skill in defining and creatively designing projects, monitoring costs, quality and on-time performance of project activities using standard project management techniques. Substantial skill in educational program design.
Skill in facilitation, team building, collaborative problem solving, conflict resolution, and systems/process development. Skill in developing and implementing creative programs that increase exposure, enhance customer experience, drive leads and deliver revenue. Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and responsibilities. Demonstrated success working in a team environment through coordination and communication of delegated responsibilities.
Ability to coordinate a diverse resource pool, interact effectively in an individual membership environment, recognize and identify member concerns, analyze issues and concepts to correctly state a problem and develop recommended solutions. Demonstrated success in designing professional development curricula; developing print, computer-based, web-based, audio and video products for professionals. Demonstrated experience contracting with educational vendors and consultants and managing projects to successful completion.
Experience writing marketing materials, reports, manuals, program materials, articles, and correspondence. Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with Web-based research and information dissemination applications.
Bachelors Degree in Education with concentration in Adult Education or Instructional Systems Design or related field, plus four to six years of relevant project management experience. Advanced degree in education, training and development, or business administration, is preferred, but not required. Software industry experience a plus. Experience in the design and construction industry with a working knowledge of AIA Contract Documents is also helpful.
