This position is responsible for analyzing planning reports to determine production requirements, placing purchase orders, establishing and managing relationships with vendors, maintaining purchasing files and monitoring inventory levels.
Coordinate projects and ensure orders and procurement issues are handled in a professional and timely manner. Manage and develop relationships with suppliers to reduce costs, improve quality and ensure on-time delivery of purchased products and materials. Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory control. Proactively lead efforts to uncover cost reduction opportunities. Solve procurement problems when they occur. Work with suppliers, QA and Engineering to resolve quality issues. Work with Finance to resolve A/P issues. Responsible for issuing and tracking RMAs. Manage the logistics for all inbound shipments from China.
Requirements:
5+ years experience in materials planning, procurements, or purchasing. 4 year college degree, business field preferred Knowledge of electronic components and ICs Must have experience importing from the orient. Ability to negotiate terms and pricing for materials and services. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with qualified suppliers. Ability to find and qualify new/alternative suppliers. Proficient with Windows based personal computers Excellent knowledge of Excel is required Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational, attention-to-detail, and multi-tasking skills.
