Provides Tier-2, Tier-3 support to the Service Desk, specially for infrastructure related issues
Records problems and their resolutions in a ticketing system
Assists in the installation, configuration and maintenance of servers and infrastructure devices, including network printers
Resolves root cause of incidents, escalating when necessary
Troubleshoots problems affecting server hardware and operating systems
Actively monitors corporate, development and production servers
Manages host as specified by Wireless Generations security policy and procedures
Audits and maintains system and infrastructure documentation
Performs data backup and restore
Tests and performs Disaster Recovery procedures
Off-hours on-call duties related to critical services
Responds to off-hours emergencies
Responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity and confidentiality of core corporate and customer-facing services: email, VPN, networked file storage, Internet connectivity and mCLASS applications
Provides LAN/WAN/VPN support
Reviews and carries out minor and standard change requests
Communicates technical details to ITOps and Tech Leads
Trains Systems Administrators
Requirements for Systems Administrator II:
3-5 years of work experience
Strong knowledge of the appropriate operating system (Macintosh or Windows, Linux is a plus), and solid knowledge of the complementary OS
Strong theoretical understanding of the OSI network model and core Internet standards
Desirable: MCSA for Windows, ACSA for Macintosh, CCNA
