Administered four (4) Sun UE4000 database servers running Oracle.
I managed daemon-services, hardware-diagnostics, and Legato NETBACKUP problems.
There was also a Sun UE450 server (providing web services).
Used (and assisted with database administration of Remedy trouble tracking system.
Supported moving a Sun UE4000 database- development-server and Sun UE450
web-server (from Penn Plaza, NYC to Fairfield, NJ).
Installed and configured HP OpenView (on a Sun Ultra-60 server).
DrKW LLC (Wall St, NYC, NY)
Upgraded boot-firmware and configured a dual-processor Sun Ultra-Sparc3 to
run Solaris-8. Installed Sun DiskSuite software and added Veritas file system
and volume management (vxfs and vxvm drivers).
Administered 200 various Solaris enterprise-class application and DB
servers performing volume maintenance, repairing mirrors, replacing disks, and
resizing logical volumes.
Scripted SSH networked auditing, inspection, and installation tools
(using Korn - ksh, Berkeley - csh, and Bourne - sh & bash shells).
Generated a web-based backup, security- audit, and trouble-ticket summary for
all servers daily (by 9 AM).
Prepared systems for corporate security audit (passed with honors).
Sprint Datacenter (Chelsea, NYC, NY)
Installed and networked over a half dozen Compaq commercial Xeon multi-processors and
installed and configured NOC (network operated console) services. This performance awarded me
a Quarterly Sprint-Values-Excellence-Award.
United Tel Sys (Florida - remotely)
Managed a project providing metrics (generated in HTML and Java) to
customers for guaranteed DSL line-speed.
