RN Supervisor
The Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation is a not for profit corporation that exists to provide medical services, research and education. The foundation provides the infrastructure for the delivery of physician services, and contracts with a separate corporation comprised of physicians and other care providers to deliver the clinical services. This multi-specialty foundation will provide a platform from which new physicians can be recruited to continue to provide physician services in a nonprofit, community setting. The Foundation's vision is to create a medical group that will deliver high quality, market competitive medical services.
Under minimal supervision, incumbent will ensure that the workforce follows SEBMF policies & procedures in order to get the job done effectively and efficiently. Specifically, incumbent is responsible for providing nursing care for patients and their families; supervision of personnel, staffing, implementation of new and continued application of existing policies and procedures, adherence to compliance policies, and submission of reports and charge information in accordance with policies. This position may be responsible for floating to all areas of the Foundation that require the Registered Nurses' licensure and skill set.
Requirements:
Education: Associate: High School Diploma and unrestricted California Registered Nurse licensure required. Valid CPR/BLS certification, required. Valid ACLS certification is preferred.
Knowledge/Experience: Minimum of three (2) year of clinical supervisory experience in a health care environment is required. Previous supervisory experience in outpatient healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology; scope of practice for a Registered Nurse; medication administration; computers and their applications; and experience with an electronic health record is preferred.
Sound knowledge of HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy and ensures staff adheres to regulations.
Demonstrated good customer service skills with the ability to listen and convey ideas and information in both verbal and written format.
Demonstrated ability to positively handle internal and external contacts, handle confidential information appropriately, and maintain office workflow systems.
Effectively prioritize work direction from multiple sources with tact and diplomacy including professional presence, capability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
Ability to demonstrate clinical competence in providing direct care, patient and family education.
Ability to provide leadership and role modeling among clinical support staff and clinicians.
Special Skills/Equipment: Proven clinical supervisory skills are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language are required. Ability to organize and set priorities to ensure objectives are met in a timely manner. The ability to motivate and train adults; phone triage skills; dosage calculation skills as proven by successful completion of the medication test; patient assessment and monitoring skills are essential for this position; basic nursing skills such as taking vital signs, chart documentation, and preparing patients for exams; ability to accept, implement and evaluate change; ability to prioritize workflow and manage multiple priorities with demands on time while remaining calm; excellent customer service skills are required for this position; skills in the use of office equipment, computer and software skills are a must for this position.
