The Staff RN position is responsible for providing total comprehensive Perianesthesia nursing to patients and their families through the implementation of a pre op and post op plan of care specific to pediatric and adult populations in a high acuity Level 1 Trauma Center. RN demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgement, autonomy and flexibility in a high stress, fast paced environment. Must be knowledgeable and competent in post anesthesia/post surgical care to include but not limited to critical airway and ventilatory management, post op pain control,sedation and neuromuscular blockade, ABG interpretation/analysis, critical care pharmacology and hemodynamic monitoring/management under supervision of the Anesthesia and Surgical teams. The RN must be knowledgeable and adhere to ASPAN standards during all phases of Perianesthesia care. The staff nurse understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of patient care services.
: Experienced RN with at least one year comparable Phase I and II PACU and Pre-op background in a high acuity environment and/or two years experience in a critical care setting required. Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. CPAN/CAPA/CCRN certification preferred.
: Position requires current license as an RN or valid Status P (Petitioner) temporary license in State of North Carolina with no substantiated findings. Status P indicates RN has applied for permanent NC license. ACLS, PALS, BLS required.
: Monday - Friday 7:00pm - 7:00am : No Weekends : no call
