Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), the countrys preeminent art and design school, located in historic Providence, RI, is seeking applicants for full-time, key positions in its Office of Information Technology as Director, Enterprise Systems and Services, and Project Manager.
OIT at RISD is alive with challenging opportunities as we fulfill a multi-year upgrade plan comprising: broadening Datatel ERP system infrastructure and support capabilities; implementing technologies such as new Business Objects, Business Intelligence system, Web Portal experience; integrating and maximizing cross-functionality of campus-wide services; and general business process reengineering to maximize security and efficiency.
The Director Enterprise Systems and Services oversees design, implementation, and enhancement of enterprise resources, business systems and services; inputs to, and, when approved, implements a campus identity management plan; and leads teams responsible for analysis, design, and enhanced operations of enterprise applications, the ERP active portal, administrative web applications, business intelligence and data warehousing, databasing, identity management, and other systems such as integration of new mobile and social applications. S/he will ensure IT projects are realistic in scope, effectively managed and fully available to the user community through enterprise system training.
Requires Bachelors degree and 7-10 years IT experience, with at least 5 years managing ERP systems and services; proven success with college-wide administrative applications and identity management systems; capacity to manage large-scale projects within scope and budget; and the leadership strength to build consensus, manage valuable resources of equipment and talent, and broker competing interests.
The Project Manager oversees an assigned technology project and serves as central point of contact between end users and IT project teams, especially concerning enterprise level system implementations, migrations, and updates. Projects vary in size and scope, but the Project Manager develops and documents the project plan; helps define project scope; translates this scope into the tasks, resources, costs, tools, dependencies and durations required for achieving objectives; and tracks progress throughout the project lifetime.
Requires Bachelors degree with 5-7 years IT project management experience, preferably in higher education; the qualities of leadership which influence and motivate team members to complete assignments, while showing personal drive and follow through; advanced analytical and problem solving skills; superior organizing and communication skills; and computer proficiencies which include databasing and MS Office. Experience implementing enterprise level systems is a plus, and Project Management Institute Certification preferred.
