COMPUTER SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
Provide hardware and software system administration for work stations, including personal computers, servers, fax machines, satellite receivers, switches, routers, printers, telephone control, and other peripherals. This is a contract-employee assignment with a term of one year plus four optional years (not to exceed five years and six months) in support of an Air Force unit at Nellis AFB, NV. (CompTia) A+ certification is required. Previous Air Force experience in a similar position will be highly favored. Typical tasks will include
1.1 Resource Management. The contractor shall manage the use of computers and computer laboratory equipment, provide notification of malfunctioning equipment and identify/research needed upgrades to equipment. The contractor will be the primary Advanced Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) custodian and maintain inventory control of all accountable equipment.

1.2 The contractor shall provide hardware and software system administration on all work stations, including personal computers, servers, fax machines, satellite receivers, switches, routers, printers, telephone control and other peripherals critical to proper function of technology systems.

1.2.2 Implement any required new systems (software/hardware). Set up new computers and other information systems in a timely manner to support continuous improvement with minimal interruption of operations IAW base directives.

1.2.3 Provide all networking architecture recommendations and networking support to maintain/improve networks including the Nellis LAN network, QoLnet, and the satellite network.

1.2.4 Establish procedures for safe guarding all critical data. Design back-up methodology to guarantee uninterrupted service to customers.

1.2.5 Develop tracking system to (including all required documentation) monitor all information systems. Establish diagram of facility with associated database to track fixes and implementation of information systems.

1.2.6 Conduct upgrades to databases and provide for safe migration of important data from one system to another. Install and maintain databases.

1.2.7 Perform all system support for successful operation of the technology.

1.2.8 Coordinate with external agencies and IAW base directives to complete computer support/training requirements.

1.3 Training. Train office personnel on software required for them to efficiently execute their jobs.

1.3.1 Educate personnel on proper security procedures to protect sensitive data and records.

1.3.2 Provide database access and training to users.

1.3.3 Communicate system information/updates to users.

1.3.4 In addition to maintaining 100% accountability for Advanced Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) inventory; coordinate with HQ ACC/A1KE/99 COMS on technology and equipment upgrades IAW directives.

Salary Range listed reflects base salary of $19.92/hr plus a $3.50 Health & Welfare allowance, which can used to defray costs of healthcare insurance or for any other purpose employee desires. Additional benefits include a 401k plan and 10 paid holidays per year. After one year service, employee is eligible for 10 day paid vacation (or cash in lieu of), and a company match of portion of 401k contribution.

Base salary of $19.92/hr plus a $3.50 Health & Welfare allowance, which can used to defray costs of healthcare insurance or for any other purpose employee desires. Additional benefits include a 401k plan and 10 paid holidays per year. Requirements:

? Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTia) A+ certification is required. You will be required to provide a copy of your certification. (PLEASE SUBMIT WITH YOUR RESUME IF TO AVOID DELAYS IN PROCESSING YOUR APPLICATION).
? Minimum 2-5 years? experience in computer hardware and software application support.
? Knowledge of/experience with Air Force computer/network security regulations is mandatory
? Excellent customer service skills, verbal communication skills, and appropriate professional work behaviors are necessary.
? Must be able to utilize Microsoft Office Suite (including Internet Explorer) and Jetform Formflow Filler.
? Must be able to install and operate multi-media software using stand-alone or networked computers.
? Must be able to trouble-shoot software problems.
