SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Operates equipment and tools in a safe professional manner. 2. Determines product dimensions and tolerances as well as best method and fabrication sequence by studying blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering information, or sample parts. 3. Selects appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used. 4. Calculates dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and precision instruments (such as micrometers and calipers). 5. Programs/edits CNC machine with data taken from technical drawings, planning the most efficient sequence of operations for the job. 6. Selects appropriate tools and cutting speed for each cut. 7. Aligns/secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines. 8. Independently sets up and operates CNC vertical mill. 9. Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. 10. Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs. 11. May write and or modify machine programs. 12. Measures, examines and tests completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications. 13. Ensures all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Requirements:
HS diploma or equivalent. 6 years vertical mill experience. Able to hold high tolerances.
Strong analytical and communication skills a must.
Able to multi-task, prioritize, and troubleshoot issues.
CNC machine programming experience strongly preferred. EdgeCAM 12.5 a plus!
