Support a comprehensive quality management system in accordance with ISO9001:2008 and all applicable regulatory and statutory requirements as defined by the Government, our customers, and those companies we distribute product for. Work closely with all customers and suppliers (internal and external).
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)
Support and maintain the quality system.
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a South Bend training program.
Support the quality assurance staff using a “Hands-On” approach.
Stress and maintain continuous improvement.
Implement investigative and problem solving methods.
Efficiently handle customer and supplier concerns.
Efficiently handle sales and product staff concerns and issues.
Continuously review the state of quality throughout the company utilizing traditional quality techniques (SPC, Pareto, . . .) as tracking and reporting methods.
Relay all quality related information, per the established quality system, to the quality manger or other groups as required.
Actively participate in all audits (internal, customer, and third party)
Promote ISO quality system as directed by the QM or MR.
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Minimum of five years in a quality related field including management positions.
Degree required, preferably in engineering.
Experience in the implementation of Quality Management Principles.
Strong PC skills.
Strong, analytical, team player with the ability to motivate employees by way of example.
Ability to fluctuate schedule as deemed necessary by management or as requested.
Ability to travel throughout the U.S. and to foreign countries as requested.
Certified as an ISO Auditor.
Strong root cause analysis and investigative skills.
Understanding of how to read and interpret component and assembly drawings.
Understanding of how to use, read, and interpret various measurement tools.
Ability to work closely with employees, customer, and suppliers with a wide spectrum of backgrounds and abilities.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES – (Proficiencies for application job-related knowledge, experience and skills.)
Competency with all applicable computer skills
A comprehensive knowledge of ISO9000. Other certifications such as AS9100, QS9000 a plus.
Ability to integrate Quality as a part of every activity.
Working knowledge of Quality process tools such as SPC, Lean Six Sigma, or TOC.
Familiarity with Government and Industry compliance procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Manual lifting up to 70 lbs.
Repetative detailed work
Ability to work on feet at least 90% of the day.
Be able to reach over shoulder to top shelf of inventory bags in warehouse with or without the aid of a ladder or step stool.
