Yale University is seeking a Masters-level electrical engineer to function as the Director of the Electronics Instrumentation Development Center (EIDC). The Center will support cutting-edge research efforts in the physical and biological sciences at Yale University. The EIDC Director?s primary role will be to assist research scientists (faculty, postdocs, graduate and undergraduate students) in the development of custom electronic circuits for use in their work. The type of assistance provided will run the gamut: general consulting for researchers with previous expertise in electronics; close mentoring of novices interested in learning the art of electronic instrumentation; and start-to-finish design, fabrication, and delivery of instruments for fast-track users. The EIDC Director will also be expected to co-teach a graduate-level course in electronic instrument design including analog, mixed analog-digital, and digital techniques. The successful candidate will bring a strong entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for teaching, and a streak of intellectual curiosity to this unique position within one of the worlds premier universities.

Requirements:


  • Masters Degree in Engineering, the Physical Sciences, or a related field and three years of related work in a research development facility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive experience in design and construction of custom electronic instrumentation.
