 UK HealthCare Information Technology Services has posted the Technology Manager Network Engineering role. This role will be held accountable for establishing strong credibility & collaboration with our physicians, customers, department leadership, affiliated organizations, and all I.T. staff members. This is a highly matrixed organization which requires excellent interpersonal skills, persuasion and influencing skills, ability to lead large multi-disciplinary teams through significant amount of varied work assignments.

The successful Technology Manager Network Engineering will manage the outsourced vendor whom performs installation, configuration, maintenance and support of our client's standard hardware/software networking technologies. This will include managing all aspects of design, configuration, implementation and support of local and wide-area telecommunication networks, Internet, broadband, wireless, and other telecommunications media to ensure the safe, secure, reliable and efficient transmission of corporate data compatible with system capabilities and existing technologies and services. Primary responsibilities include: Assigns and oversees work of the outsourced vendor of network engineering personnel to ensure timely and accurate service and technical support to customers; assists the outsourced vendor in developing network plans and in designing and implementing new or modified LAN/WAN/MAN/MPLS; conducts network systems analysis according to the standards and methodology consistent with technical requirements; selects, hires, trains, and evaluates employees; prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval, etc. Additional responsibilities include management and leadership of I.T. Governance projects and milestones; adherence to the UK HealthCare Behavioral Expectations; personnel and financial management; and oversight and establishment of departmental goals.

Requirements:

The minimum requirements for this position are a Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. The ideal candidate will have the following skills: effective and innovative leadership; critical thinking; strategic decision making; problem solving and excellent interpersonal and communication, both written and verbal. The ability to develop staff which includes mentoring and coaching employees; teamwork; conflict resolution; and performance evaluations is essential. Project management methodologies and practice; performance management principles; and Microsoft project and project server applications knowledge is preferred.  In addition, the ideal candidate must be able to work successfully in a highly matrix organization.

Prefer a Master's degree and 7 years previous experience in an academic healthcare environment that demonstrated leadership and exceptional performance in the development, implementation and direct oversight of industry and service management best practices. ITIL v3 certification is strongly preferred.
