Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant I - Outpatient Rehab - Physical, Sports, and Hand Therapy

Provides professional Occupational Therapy Treatment to patient under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Provides support services and maintenance activities to assist in the smooth running of the program. Persons served range from adolescence to late adulthood. In addition to the minimum qualifications and essential job functions, each employee shall meet established age and skill specific competencies. Skill competencies requiring additional development will be identified I the first year of employment and addressed annually in the employee's performance plan.
Requirements:
Graduate from an approved (by AMA/AOTA) curriculum for Occupational Therapy Assistants and successful completion of national certification examination. One year experience in physical disability setting preferred. Certification with the American Occupational Therapy Association. Current CPR certification. Must be able to operate sewing machine, band saw and other hand/power tools. Good organizational skills required. Strength and coordination necessary for lifting patients, pushing wheelchairs, gurneys and beds.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC ADDENDUM:
Looking for COTA/ PTA with significant previous outpatient hand experience to work full time with certified hand therapists in a busy outpatient hand clinic. Experience working with complicated diagnoses such as tendon repairs desired.
