Heres what you?ll experience as a member of our EMT:
1. Your first step is Sales Advisor (self-paced, typically 10-12 months). Heres where the real action happens and youll learn everything about it. We send you through focused training and set you up with a mentor. Well look for you to use your people skills as you spend time listening to our customers, matching them to the best cars and payment plans for their situations, and getting to know our unique way of doing everything. (Which is very different from all other car dealerships. More on that below.)
2. From Sales Advisor, youll progress into a Senior Sales Advisor role (self-paced; typically 10 to 12 months). At this point, well be counting on you to use your strategic vision and leadership skills as you oversee sales operations and staff, promote an environment based on teamwork, and align the teams energy, focus, and intensity on driving business results. Additionally, you will learn the ins and outs of underwriting loans with DriveTime.
3. During your third step on our EMT, you?ll progress into Management. Heres where things get really exciting. You will continue to develop your leadership and management skills as you transition from mentoring one or two people to leading the sales floor. Well be counting on you to build effective teams, create a positive and productive work environment, and collaborate with all levels of management to create and set the vision. Naturally, your pay will increase along the way.
4. You: Management and beyond As you settle further into management, youll start to specialize and build skills in your area of interest. Is it people? Processes? Technology? Communications? Finance? How to qualify for a spot on the elite management track:
Bachelors degree from a 4-year college with a strong GPA.
1 year of relevant experience within the past 5 years (sales, restaurant, customer service).
Thirst for career development and continuous learning.
Demonstrate good communication skills and listening skills, and the ability to understand and relate to people from all walks of life.
Possess excellent PC skills.
Value and embrace diversity.
Valid drivers license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a drug test and a background check.
