Video Communications Systems Analyst
A SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to plan, install and manage video surveillance and communications systems and associated network servers and assets. Other duties include managing and maintaining the fare vending machine network, data servers, central train tracking system, surveillance cameras and network communications equipment.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain, repair and upgrade video security and communications systems; administer audio recording systems, servers and recording devices; implement configuration management of hardware and software; evaluate surveillance; monitor systems for safety, cost, effectiveness, efficiency and reliability; analyze, troubleshoot and resolve problems with assigned systems; provide analytical and technical support in the design, construction, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of large, complex, and geographically diverse security and communication equipment. Serve as project lead on security and communication related procurements, installation and construction projects; prepare proposal and bid documents for purchase of communications and security related equipment or services; coordinate work of contracted employees; maintain effective liaison with suppliers, contractors and departments. Manage information and administrative tasks by serving as liaison to internal and external requests for information; prepare and present progress and status reports; maintain knowledge currency with industry technology advancements. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or a related field. Additional directly related experience beyond the minimum requirement may substitute for the required education based on the ratio of one and a half (1.5) years of experience for each one (1) year of education.
Experience: Three (3) years experience in network engineering/operations and maintenance, video surveillance systems and/or wireless networking.
Proof of required education such as college transcripts, diplomas, licenses and/or certificates must be submitted before you will be considered for this position.
